A persistent link to a journal article is a URL, or web address, that links directly to that journal article. Some, but not all, databases provide persistent links to articles. See the following list to determine whether a given database offers persistent links and, if so, how to obtain them.

A persistent link can be posted on Moodle or, in most cases, included in an email message. Whether you are posting or emailing the persistent link, be sure to include two versions of the link: the persistent link found by the appropriate method listed below and the persistent link with the proxy server prefix attached. This method should ensure both on- and off-campus access. If the first link does not work for users, they should try the second.

To create the prefixed link, simply paste the prefix http://cacheproxy.lfc.edu:2048/login?url= immediately before the persistent link URL. For example, the persistent link http://www.xyz.aaa would become http://cacheproxy.lfc.edu:2048/login?url=http://www.xyz.aaa with the addition of the prefix.
