Course Reserves, Permanent Reserves, Rooms and Supplies
All items in the categories below can be checked out at the Donnelley and Lee Library Circulation Desk (photo ID required). Items that are on reserve for less than one full day may not be removed from the library.
Course Reserve Materials - Various lending periods
Instructors may place course materials on reserve in the library. The loan period for these items is generally 2 hours. A patron may request to extend the loan period if needed for viewing a single DVD or video with a running time greater than 120 minutes. Occasionally, items may have a 1-day, 2-day or 3-day loan period - this will be noted on the item. An instructor that has placed an item on reserve may borrow that item through the end of the term. If more than one instructor places the same item on reserve, the loan period then defaults to 2-hours for all borrowers.
Permanent Reserve - 2-hour loan period
This includes material such as high-demand journals (The Economist, Vanity Fair, etc.) and newspapers (including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal).
Study Rooms - 2-hour loan period
Lake Forest College Students may check out a key for study room on a first-come, first served basis. When the student is done using the study room, all dry-erase writing surfaces must erased, and any furniture that has been moved must be returned to its original location.
